We have been operating Zain Silk for a good while now here in Rasool Pura. If you walk down the lanes of Jaitpura towards Bhosari, you will eventually run into our spot where we keep all the fabric. It is not a fancy showroom with big lights or anything like that. Mostly it is just us moving rolls of silk around and making sure things are organized on the wooden shelves. The air usually smells a bit like raw cloth and maybe a little tea because we drink a lot of it while working. My cousin and I started this because we knew a lot about the local weavers and what people in the neighborhood were looking for when they wanted to make something for a wedding or just a nice shirt. We spend most of our mornings checking the thread counts and talking to the guys who drop off the new stock from the looms. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded when a few families come in at once, and we have to move the stools around so everyone can sit. It gets dusty because of the road outside, but we try to keep the silk covered up. We don't really do much advertising or have a big website. People just know we are here in this part of Bhosari. We just focus on getting the right colors in stock and making sure the measurements are cut straight when someone buys a few meters.
