Falak General Store

Varanasi is a city that never really stops and Sigra is one of those areas where you really feel the energy. Falak General Store is located in Chandni Nagar which is a busy little pocket of the city. We have been here for a good while now and we see all sorts of people walking past our doors every day. Being in Sigra means there is always a lot of noise from the vehicles and the people talking outside. The shop itself is quite simple and we don't try to make it look like anything other than what it is. It's just a place where you can get your daily essentials without any fuss. We have shelves filled with snacks and toiletries and all the usual things you would expect to find in a general store. The morning sun hits the front of the shop quite hard so we sometimes have to pull the shade down a bit. Chandni Nagar has a lot of families living nearby so we get a lot of kids coming in for sweets after school. I like the rhythm of the day here even when it gets a bit chaotic with too many people asking for things at once. It is a very honest way to make a living and we are just happy to be a part of the local Sigra community. Usually we are just sitting here waiting for the next customer to come in through the door.
