Chandra Prasad General Stores

Chandra Prasad General Stores is based in the Wasliganj area of Varanasi. We are on Sankatmochan Road in the Varanasi Cantt region. This part of the city is always full of life and very crowded. Our store has been in the family for a long time, starting with my grandfather many years ago. We sell all sorts of daily necessities and groceries. The shop itself is quite old and a bit cramped because we have so much stock piled up. You can find everything from rice and lentils to small household items here. Sankatmochan Road is always busy with people, rickshaws, and sometimes even animals wandering past the door. It is a noisy and vibrant place to work every day. We don't have any modern displays or fancy lighting. We just put our goods out and let people see what we have. Most of our customers have been buying from us for generations. In Varanasi, things don't change very quickly, and we like it that way. We stay open late into the night because the city stays active for a long time. It can get very hot and humid here, but we are used to the weather. We don't do any marketing; our reputation comes from being here for so long. It is a hard but rewarding life running a traditional store in such a historic part of Varanasi.
