Arun Gen Store

People know us here at Mansarover Ghat as the place to pick up small things they forgot for the house. We are Arun Gen Store, located right at B 14/ 18 in the Bhelupura area. It is easy to find because we are directly opposite the Andhra Ashram. Every day starts the same way, pulling up the heavy metal shutters and dusting off the jars on the front counter. Varanasi is a busy city, and this spot near the ghat gets a lot of foot traffic. We see pilgrims, locals, and sometimes tourists wandering by. The shop isn't very large, but we pack it with as much as we can fit. There are rows of snacks, household cleaners, and basic groceries. We spend most of the day talking to neighbors who come in for their daily supplies. It is a bit loud outside with the horns and the people, but inside it is just us and the goods on the shelves. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit in the doorway to get some air. We have been in this spot for quite a while now. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. My family helps out with the inventory when the new stocks arrive on the rickshaws. It is a simple life running a shop like this, but it keeps us busy from morning until late at night.
