Anand Gen. Store

Anand Gen. Store is situated in the Sankat Mochan area of Lanka, right here in Varanasi. This is a busy part of town, especially with the temple nearby. We get all sorts of people walking in, from students to families who have lived in the 221005 area for generations. The shop isn't very large, but we try to cram in as much as possible. You can find everything from notebooks and pens to shampoo and basic groceries. It’s a bit of a mix because that’s what people around here ask for. I keep the shop open pretty late most days. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a while. I don’t have a big team or anything, just a couple of us making sure the shelves don't stay empty for too long. People often stop by just to pick up one thing they forgot, and they end up staying for a quick chat. It’s just how things work in this neighborhood. We aren't trying to be a supermarket. We are just a local general store where you can get what you need without a fuss. It’s a simple life, keeping the shop running and making sure the inventory is right. Varanasi is a crowded place, and we are just one small part of it. We just keep our heads down and work. Every day is the same but in a good way.
