Amarjit General Store

You can find Amarjit General Store right in the heart of Chaura Bazar, specifically on Chauri Sarak. We are positioned directly opposite the City Palace, which is a major landmark around here. Because of the location, it stays very busy with tourists and locals alike walking past all day long. The shop itself is quite old-fashioned. We haven't changed much over the years because the current setup works for us and our customers. We stock a wide variety of general items that people need daily. It can be a bit noisy with the market sounds and the traffic, but that’s just how life is in this part of town. We don’t have fancy displays or bright neon signs. It’s just shelves filled with goods and a counter where we sit. Dealing with the heat in the summer can be tough, but we manage. People come in looking for small things they can’t find elsewhere in the bazar. We try to keep a bit of everything on hand. Sometimes the aisles are a bit narrow, so you have to squeeze past other people. We know the rhythms of Chaura Bazar well and adjust our timing based on the crowd. It’s a basic, honest shop where we just try to provide what people are looking for without making a big fuss about it. We just keep our heads down and keep the business going as usual.
