Adishakti Departmental Store

Adishakti Departmental Store is our family-run place on the Main Road in Nariya, Varanasi. We are situated on the way to Sankat Mochan, so the road is always full of people, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Our shop is Shop No 2, and we have been here serving the local Nariya residents for some time. We carry a wide range of departmental goods, from kitchen staples like rice and salt to things like plastic buckets and mops. Because we are on the main road, it gets quite dusty, so we are always wiping down the counters. It’s a lot of work to keep everything organized, but we try our best. We don't have any fancy signs or advertisements. People just know us because we’ve been here and we treat everyone fairly. The shop is a bit narrow, so we have stuff stacked all the way to the ceiling. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we help customers. It’s a nice way to spend the day, seeing the pilgrims go by and chatting with the neighbors who stop in for their daily milk. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket, just a reliable spot where you can get what you need without a fuss. It’s a simple life running a store in a holy city like this.
