Adarsh Provisional Centre

Our shop, Adarsh Provisional Centre, is out in the Chiraigaon area of Varanasi, in a small place called Rustampur Vill. It is a bit away from the main city rush, but it has its own kind of busyness. Being a Sahara Q Shop, we provide a lot of the basic goods that people in the village and the surrounding P.O-Chiraigaon area require. The building is a simple structure, and we keep most of our stock where it is easy to reach. Varanasi can be very humid, so we have to be careful about how we store things like flour or sugar. The days here are long, starting when the first light hits the village roads. We spend a lot of time chatting with the local farmers and residents who stop by for their daily needs. It’s not a high-tech store; we still use old-fashioned scales for some things and write down our accounts by hand. The shelves are mostly made of wood and have been there since we started. Sometimes a stray dog will sit by the entrance to get away from the sun, and we just let it be. We don't have a big staff, just family and a helper or two. It is a quiet, practical life where we just try to keep the essentials in stock for the neighborhood. It is not about being the best, just about being there when someone needs a bag of rice or some oil.
