Range Foods Ltd.

Range Foods is located in the 3rd Phase of the GIDC in Umbergaon. If you know this industrial area, you know it’s a maze of factories and trucks. We are at plot 426, and it’s a busy place. Being in the food business means we have to be very careful about how things are handled, but we aren't corporate types in suits. We’re mostly in our work clothes, making sure the production lines are running like they should. The smell of whatever we are processing that day usually fills the whole area. It’s a lot of manual work mixed with some machinery, and there’s always something that needs fixing or cleaning. Our staff mostly comes from the nearby villages and towns, so it feels like a local operation even though we move a lot of volume. The shifts start early, sometimes before the sun is even up, to get a head start on the day's targets. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. Most of our day is spent on the floor, checking things over and making sure the packaging is right. The GIDC can be a dusty and loud place, but once you step inside our gate, it’s all about the food. It’s hard work, and the days are long, but we’ve got a good rhythm going. We just focus on getting the crates loaded and the trucks out on time so everything stays fresh.
