Umesh M Purohit. 201/A Alkapuri. It's across from the State Bank of India. We spend most of our mornings watching the crowd at the bank. The office is a bit small but it works for us. I’ve been here for a while now. The desk is always covered in papers. Alkapuri is a nice enough area, though parking is a headache sometimes. My cousin helps out when things get really hectic. We drink a lot of chai from the stall downstairs. It’s just how things go here. You walk up the stairs and we're right there. Some days it's quiet, other days the phone won't stop ringing. I try to keep things organized but it never stays that way for long. The window lets in some light but mostly it’s the fluorescent lamps. We know the neighbors pretty well by now. People stop by just to chat or ask for directions because of the bank being right there. It feels like home after all these years. Nothing fancy, just a regular place to get work done. I usually leave around six unless there's a big pile of stuff to finish. The chair squeaks a bit but I’m used to it. That's about it really. We're just here doing our thing every day. It's nothing special to anyone else, but it's where we spend our lives. We've got an old calendar on the wall that we forget to turn sometimes. Just a normal office life.
