Swiss Beauty Parlour

Swiss Beauty Parlour is at Shop 4 in the Rajsmit Complex on Waghodia Road. We are right opposite the Prabhat Bus Stand, so there is always a crowd of people outside waiting for their ride. You can hear the conductors shouting and the buses pulling in and out all day long. It’s a very lively place to be. The shop itself is small. I have a few mirrors and the basic chairs for doing hair and skin work. Most of the ladies come in while they are out doing their shopping or before they catch a bus home. We do a lot of threading, waxing, and the occasional hair color. I don't have any big advertisements or polished brochures. People just see the sign when they are standing at the bus stop and wander in. The Waghodia area is quite dusty, so I have to wipe down the counters several times a day to keep things looking okay. It’s just me and the work. I’ve lived in Vadodara all my life, so I’m used to the heat and the noise. I don’t try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a simple parlour where you can get your work done quickly. I usually keep a small radio playing in the background to drown out the bus stand noise. It makes the day go by a bit faster when it's slow.
