Step 1 Institute Of Dance

Step 1 Institute Of Dance is our little spot over at 12 Vaghodia. We are inside the Dhanlaxmi Shopping Center, not too far from the Gayatri Temple. It’s a lively place, especially in the evenings when the classes start. You can usually hear the music from down the hall before you even see our door. We started this because we wanted a place where people could come and just move around without feeling judged. The floors are a bit scuffed from all the shoes, and the mirrors always need a good wipe down, but that’s a sign that people are actually using the space. We don’t have any high-pressure goals or fancy corporate backing. It’s just us teachers and the students who show up every week. The shopping center is a good home for us because parents can run errands while the kids are in class. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of people waiting in the lobby, but we make it work. We’ve been near the Gayatri Temple for several years now and we feel like part of the furniture. We don’t do big TV ads or anything. Most people find us because they live nearby or their cousins came here once. It’s a community thing more than anything else. We just like to keep the music playing and the energy up as much as we possibly can every single day.
