Sneh Beauty Parlour

Sneh Beauty Parlour is situated at D-21 in the Spandan Shopping Centre. This is on the Arunachal Samta Road in the Subhanpura area of Vadodara. If you are looking for the shop, we are right across from Sonal Park. It is a nice location because the park brings a bit of green to the view outside our front window. The shopping centre stays fairly busy with people running their daily errands. We open up in the morning and stay until the evening light starts to fade. The shop itself is cozy, maybe even a bit small if several people come in at the same time, but we always make it work somehow. Most of the women from around Subhanpura come here for their regular threading or hair oiling. We have got a couple of mirrors and the usual tools of the trade. It is not a place with marble floors or fancy designer lighting. It is just a straightforward, honest parlour. I spend a lot of time cleaning up hair from the floor and making sure the towels are fresh for the next person. We talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while we work. It is all very relaxed and informal. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just sit and wait, chatting with the customers until the lights come back on. That is just life here. People appreciate that we are here and that we do not put on any acts.
