You can find us right opposite Narsinh Estate in Pratapnagar. With trucks moving in and out all day, it’s a pretty loud and busy spot to work. Our yard stays full of construction machinery, some of it ready for use and some just waiting on a spare part. Because the ground is mostly dirt and gravel, everything gets covered in a layer of dust when it’s windy. Most of our hours are spent outside checking engines or making sure the hydraulics are behaving. Heavy lifting and greasy hands are just part of the routine in this line of work. Instead of a fancy lobby, we usually just talk to people out by the machines or in the small wooden cabin we use as an office. When it rains, the yard turns into a bit of a muddy mess, so we throw down some sand and keep moving. After years of working with these motors, we can usually tell what’s wrong just by listening to the sound they make. Technical jargon isn't really our thing; if something is broken, we just tell you plainly and figure out a fix. We are just a local crew in Pratapnagar trying to help the builders get their jobs done. It is hard work, but being around the big machines all day is alright by us. We keep at it from morning until the sun goes down and the yard finally gets some quiet.
