Shashikant A. Shah

This spot is known as Shashikant A. Shah and you can find us in Vadodara. We are located right near the Main Road in the Main Bazar. It is a very busy part of the city and it gets especially loud on the weekends when everyone is out doing their shopping. I have lived here in Vadodara my whole life so I am very used to the crowds and the noise. The shop itself is not like those big modern stores you see in the malls. It is just a simple space with some wooden tables and a few chairs for visitors. We get a lot of exhaust from the street because the main road is so close to our entrance. Sometimes the big trucks backing up make a lot of loud beeping sounds that make it hard to hear people talking. I usually sit near the front door so I can see who is coming and going. People often stop by just to chat for a few minutes even if they are not planning to buy anything today. It is just how things are in this part of Main Bazar. We try to keep our things organized but sometimes the papers and boxes get piled up on the floor. In the monsoon season, the rainwater splashes right near the door, so we have to use old sacks to keep the floor from getting too slippery. It is a lot of work to run this shop by myself.
