Shah Ranchhoddas Amichand Ghiya

We have been here in Vadodara for a long time. The name on the board says Shah Ranchhoddas Amichand Ghiya, which is a lot of letters to paint. Most people just know us by the family name anyway. Our place is not one of those fancy new offices with glass doors and air conditioning that works all the time. It is just a regular building where we do our work every day. The shelves are old wood and they creak a bit when you put things on them. My father used to sit in the same chair I do now. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you come by in the afternoon, it might be a bit quiet because everyone is having tea. Vadodara has changed a lot since we started, with new roads and more cars, but we stay right here. We don't do much advertising because we never felt the need for it. People find us because they know where we are. It is a simple way of doing things. We open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. There isn't a big story or a grand plan. We just handle what comes our way and try to get home on time for dinner. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with paperwork piled up, but that is just how a real office looks when people are actually working.
