Shah Institute is right here in Karelibaug. It’s not a huge place, just a few rooms where we get things done. Most days, I’m the one opening up the shutters in the morning. The air in Karelibaug can be a bit dusty when the traffic picks up, but once you’re inside, it’s quiet enough to focus. We have these rows of benches that have been here for a long time. They’ve got some scratches and a few names carved into the wood, but they’re sturdy enough for the students. I usually spend the first hour just organizing the papers and making sure there’s enough chalk or markers for the day. Students come from all over the local area. Some of them walk, others get dropped off by their parents. It’s funny seeing the same faces every day and watching them grow up a bit over the semesters. We don't have any flashy signs or big TV screens in the lobby. It’s just a space for people who want to learn something. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings over some snacks, which is nice when we’re working late. We don't really have a big corporate strategy or some fancy plan for the future. We just show up, do the work, and try to help out whoever walks through the door. It’s a bit of a repetitive life, but there’s something good about the routine. When the sun starts to set over Karelibaug, we start packing up the books and turning off the fans. It’s just how things go.
