Sagarputra

Sagarputra is located at 223 Ajwa Road, near the Udhana Station Road area. It’s a very busy spot because of the train station being so close by. The station bells are loud enough to wake anyone up if they aren't used to the noise. There’s always a lot of movement outside with people catching their trains and trucks moving various goods in and out. Our place is a bit of a mix between a small store and a storage space. We deal with various items that come in from the coast or the larger regional markets. The shelves are usually packed right to the top, so you have to be careful when you are walking through the narrow aisles. We don't have a fancy website or any of that stuff. People just know we are here and they come to us. The floor is made of plain concrete and it really shows the wear and tear of years of moving heavy crates around. We start very early in the morning, sometimes before the sun is even up, to get things ready for the day's regular buyers. It’s a lot of physical work, mostly lifting and carrying things back and forth. By the middle of the afternoon, we usually sit on the wooden stools out front for a bit of a break and a rest. We’ve known the other shopkeepers on this block for ages. We help each other out when someone needs a hand.
