S K Travels

I spend most of my day on the phone or looking at the computer screen here at S K Travels. We are located right in Akota, just across from where the Reliance Fresh store is. It is a good spot because people come for their daily groceries and then they see our sign and come in to ask about tickets or renting a car for a family trip. The office is pretty simple. I’ve got a couple of wooden desks, some old chairs for people to sit while they wait, and a lot of maps pinned to the wall, though we use the internet for everything now. It gets really busy during the holiday seasons when everyone wants to go out of town at the exact same time. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and it gets a bit stressful trying to coordinate all the drivers and timings. We have a few cars that we look after, making sure they are clean and running okay before they go out on a long drive across the state. My brother helps me out with the bookings sometimes when I have to go out for errands. We aren't a huge company, just a local business trying to make sure people get where they need to go without too much trouble. It is a lot of talking and checking schedules every single day. I usually close up late once the last booking is sorted for the next morning.
