Rup Beauty Parlour & Katlari Store

You can find us at Shop No 1 in the Gokul Complex over in New Sama. We are tucked away behind the Avsar Party Plot in the Poonam Nagar area. It’s a bit of a double business we have going on here. On one side, it’s the beauty parlour where we do hair and threading, and on the other side, we have the katlari store with all the small household items and bangles. It makes for a busy little shop. People come in for a haircut and end up buying some hairpins or small things for their kitchen. It’s a bit cramped with all the stock we have to keep, but it works for us and our customers. The Gokul Complex has been here for a while and we are right at the front. When there’s a wedding at the Avsar Party Plot, the whole street gets blocked with cars and music, which makes it hard for our regulars to get in, but it brings in new people too. We open up early and stay until the last customer is done for the night. The floor is usually covered in a bit of everything by the end of the day. It’s just a small, local place run by real people. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just the stuff that gets the job done. Vadodara is big, but in this corner of New Sama, it feels like a small village where everyone knows what we sell.
