Rashmi Acharya

I work out of Ratnam Apartment, which is over on Alkapuri Road No. 5, tucked away near Sardar Estate on Ajwa Road. It’s a bit of a mix of residential and business around here. I’ve been doing this for a while now, mostly helping people who need someone to look over their documents or help with their professional requirements. It’s not a big corporate setup with a receptionist and a waiting room. Usually, it’s just me at my desk, surrounded by books and a lot of notes I’ve scribbled to myself. People find their way here when they need a bit of individual attention that they can’t get from the bigger firms in the city. I spend a lot of my time on the phone or typing away at the computer. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which helps when I need to concentrate on some of the more complicated filings. Sometimes I lose track of time and realize it’s gotten dark outside Sardar Estate. I’m not into big marketing or trying to sound like something I’m not. I just do the work as it comes in and try to be as helpful as I can. It’s a bit of a juggle sometimes, especially when several things are due at the same time, but I’ve managed to keep things running smoothly so far. It’s a small operation, but it’s mine, and I take it one day at a time without any grand plans to expand.
