About Saibaba Scrap Traders – Metals & Minerals in Vadodara
If you come down to GIDC Ind. Estate, you’ll find Saibaba Scrap Traders at Plot No. 516-1a. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming and going all day. There is always a pile of metal or plastic being sorted out in the yard. We spend most of our time weighing things and moving heavy loads around. It’s a dirty job, and our clothes show it by the time we go home. My brother and I started this because we knew the area well. We don’t have a fancy lobby or any air conditioning. We just have a small scale and some benches to sit on when things slow down. The noise from the surrounding factories is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. Rain is the biggest problem because it makes the yard all muddy and slows down the loading. We just keep a few tarps handy and hope for the best. Sometimes we find interesting bits of machinery in the scrap, but mostly it’s just the usual industrial waste. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. It’s just a scrap yard where we work hard and try to be fair with everyone who stops by. We’ve known the guys at the neighboring plots for years, so it feels like a little community. We just keep our heads down and get through the day's pile of junk until it's time to lock the gate.
