Machu Picchu The Cafe Lounge

The cafe is tucked away in Alkapuri Sant Nagar. It started because we wanted a place where we could actually hang out without too much noise. The name is a bit long, but most people just call it the cafe. We spend most of our mornings getting the coffee machine ready and making sure the chairs are wiped down. It gets pretty dusty around here with the road nearby, so cleaning is a big part of the job. We have some sofas that have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough for a long sit. We serve food and drinks, mostly stuff that isn't too complicated to cook. The kitchen isn't huge, so we keep the menu manageable. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but we turn it down if someone asks. We get a mix of college kids and people who work in the offices around Sant Nagar. It’s not a fancy lounge with velvet curtains or anything. Just some tables, some lights, and a kitchen. We’ve had some regulars who have been coming since we opened, and we usually know what they want before they even say it. It’s nice to see familiar faces. The afternoons are usually slow, so that's when we do the inventory and fix anything that broke. It’s a lot of work running a place like this, but we just get on with it every day.
