Being on Tandalja Road means we see a lot of different people every single day. Our salon is tucked into Shifa Complex at B-2. It is a fairly straightforward place to find if you are driving down that main stretch of road. We have been working here for a while, and the shop has become like a second home to us. It is not a huge place, but we have managed to fit everything we need into the space. The mirrors are old, and the chairs have seen a lot of use, but they still work just fine for what we do. We mostly deal with men and kids from the area who need a quick trim or a shave. It gets pretty busy on Sunday mornings when everyone realizes they need to look decent for the week ahead. You can hear the noise from the street coming through the door most of the time. We do not have any big signs or bright lights, just the name on the glass. Often, we are just standing around talking to the regulars while we work. It’s funny how much you learn about people just by cutting their hair for a few years. We don’t really do anything complicated here. We just open up the shutters in the morning, sweep out the dust from the previous day, and wait for the first person to walk in. It is just a normal hair shop in Vadodara.
