Lips Beauty Care is right up on the first floor of Abhilasha Square, shop twenty-eight. If you know Sama Road, you know it gets busy around Abhilasha Char Rasta. We’ve been here for a while now. The shop isn't huge, but it gets the job done. I usually start the day by opening up the shutters and wiping down the mirrors before the first person walks in. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but that’s just how it is. People come in from around the neighborhood for their usual stuff. We have the basic chairs and all the tools laid out on the counters. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but nobody really minds. It’s mostly just talk about what’s happening in the area or how the traffic is on Sama Road today. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that. It's just a regular place where you can sit down and get your work done. The stairs to the first floor can be a bit much if you’re tired, but once you’re inside, it’s quiet enough. I keep a stack of old magazines on the side table for anyone waiting. Most of the time, people just check their phones though. It’s funny how that changed over the years. We just keep things simple here and try to keep the place tidy between clients. It is what it is, a local shop for local people.
