K. M. Shah Dental College & Hospal

K. M. Shah Dental College & Hospal is out in Pipatia, Waghodia, which is a bit of a way from the center of Vadodara. You can find us by looking for the campus near the local post office area. It’s a busy spot because we have the college part and the hospital part running at the same time. There is always the sound of dental drills or people talking in the waiting areas. The smell of the place is very distinct, mostly that clean, medicinal scent you get in clinics. Students are always rushing around in their lab coats with their kits in their hands. We have a lot of patients coming in from the nearby villages in Gujarat, so the reception desk is usually quite crowded. The floors are tiled and we try to keep them scrubbed, though the red mud from outside sometimes gets tracked in during the monsoon. Our staff works in the small offices behind the main clinic area, mostly dealing with patient charts and student grades. It’s a lot of coordination to make sure there are enough chairs for everyone. The commute from Vadodara can be a bit long for some, so the morning starts are a bit staggered. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just the equipment needed for dental work and the space for students to learn. It is a hardworking environment every day of the week, and we just keep things moving along.
