Jayesh Hair Art

Jayesh Hair Art is located in the Shakti Shopping Center on Gotri Road. We have been in this part of Gotri for quite a while now. The easiest way to find us is to look for the big water tank right across the street. It’s a basic barber shop with the usual setup. I spend most of my day at the chair cutting hair for the local men. We do everything from simple trims to shaves with a razor. The shop isn't very big, so if a few people are waiting, it gets a bit tight inside. I have a small TV that usually stays on a news channel or a cricket game if India is playing. Hair gets all over the floor pretty fast, so I have to sweep it up constantly throughout the day. This area of Vadodara has become much busier lately. We see a lot of young guys coming in before they go to their jobs. I’ve stayed in this same spot even though the rent has gone up over the years. It’s a simple business. I open the shutters by 9 in the morning most days. If I am busy, my assistant takes over the second chair. We use standard tools that have lasted us a long time. It’s about making sure people look neat for their daily lives. We often talk about the weather or how bad the traffic is on Gotri Road. It’s just a normal neighborhood shop for regular people.
