Ilu Beauty Parlour

I am part of the staff at Ilu Beauty Parlour. We are situated on the ground floor of Rajdeep Appt. Our address is on Bakrawadi Road in the Baranpura area of Vadodara. Being on the ground floor makes it very easy for people to just walk right in from the street. Bakrawadi Road is a lively place with plenty of shops and people going about their business. Baranpura is one of those old parts of Vadodara that has a lot of history and character. At Ilu Beauty Parlour, we have our mirrors and chairs all set up. The room isn't huge, but we make the most of the space we have. There is usually the smell of shampoo or hairspray in the air. We have a couple of small windows that look out onto the street, so we can see the traffic on Bakrawadi Road while we work. The Rajdeep Appt building is well-known around here. Some of the residents from upstairs come down to see us quite often. It feels like a small community inside the parlor. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It is just a place to come and get your hair done or have a chat. The floor is usually covered in little bits of hair by the end of the day, but we sweep it up every night before we lock the doors and head home to our families. It is a good way to earn a living.
