You have to head up to the third floor of the Mannat Unit to find our place. We are located right near the New India Bakery over in Khatriwada Naka. The smell of fresh bread usually hits you before you even get to our stairs in the morning. It is a very busy area in Hathikhana and there is always something going on outside. Our workspace is filled with different kinds of fabric and rolls of thread. There are sewing machines going most of the time we are here. It is definitely not a quiet place. We have got piles of patterns and scrap cloth everywhere. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of orders but we manage to get through it. We have been in this specific spot for a while now. The light coming through the big windows is good for the detailed sewing work. We do not have a fancy boutique or a shop window. It is more of a workshop where we actually make the clothes from scratch. We deal with a lot of different people coming in and out every day. Some people want simple repairs while others want something entirely new made for a wedding. We just try to get the stitching right every time. My sister works with me and we have a couple of helpers who stay busy. We take our time with the work and stay late when needed.
