We have been operating out of Plot No. 445-A in the Gidc Estate for a long time now. The workshop stays pretty busy most days of the week. Dealing with medical hardware and orthopedic supplies is not an easy job because everything has to be just right or it won't work for the patients. My father started Sharma Orthopedic (India) Pvt. Ltd. and now we just keep it going as a family. It gets quite loud here when all the machines are running at once. We make various items like screws and plates that the doctors use. It is a lot of responsibility to get the dimensions correct. Sometimes the power goes out in the industrial estate but we just manage and wait it out. Our staff has been here for years and they know the drills by heart. We do not have a big fancy office, just the manufacturing floor and a couple of small desks for the paperwork. People come by asking for specific sizes for their orders. We try to keep some stock ready on the shelves but sometimes things take a few days to make from scratch. It is a messy job with the metal shavings getting everywhere on the floor. We just focus on getting the work done so the hospitals get what they need. The traffic near the estate gate can be a real pain in the mornings. We have seen many shops come and go here at 445-A.
