Metal Engineers

Metal Engineers is over at Plot No. 161. It’s not a very big place, but we use every inch of the space we have. We do a lot of fabrication and engineering work here. The shop is filled with various tools, welding machines, and stacks of raw metal waiting to be used. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because there’s always something being worked on. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or decor; we’d rather keep the machines in good shape. The air usually smells like burnt metal and ozone from the welding. We have a small team of guys who have been doing this for a long time. We don’t really follow a strict corporate schedule; we just work until the day’s tasks are finished. Sometimes it’s quiet, and other times it’s a total madhouse with three different things happening at once. We’ve learned to deal with the ups and downs of the business over the years. We aren't interested in being the biggest shop around, just the one that does the work right. The plot is easy enough to find if you’re looking for it. We mostly just keep our heads down and focus on whatever is on the workbench that day. It's practical work for practical people, and that's how we like to keep it. If someone comes by with a problem, we take a look and see what can be done. It’s a hands-on life and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep building things.
