Baroda Dies & Moulds Engineering

So we are here at S-81 in the R.L. Patel Estate, right across from where the old Chhani Jakat Naka used to be on Chhani Road. It’s a busy spot and sometimes the traffic makes it a bit hard for the delivery trucks to turn in, but we have been here a good while now. Baroda Dies & Moulds Engineering is basically just a group of us working with metal and machines all day. The shop floor gets pretty loud when everything is running at once. We spend most of our time looking at drawings and trying to get the blocks of steel to look like what the customer asked for. It isn't always perfect on the first go, but we keep at it until the mould fits right. There is always some dust around and the smell of cutting oil is just part of the air here. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Usually, you’ll find us in our work clothes, maybe drinking some tea near the entrance while waiting for a job to finish on the lathe. People around the estate know us as the guys who just stay busy with their tools. We don't do much talking, mostly just focused on whatever die is on the bench that day. It’s a lot of manual work and sometimes the heat in the shed gets a bit much in the summer, but that’s just how it is working in Baroda.
