Geo Test House

Our facility is over at B/10 in the Industrial Estate. It’s not the kind of place people just wander into; usually, they are coming here for a specific reason related to testing materials. We have different machines and tools for checking things like soil or concrete. It’s a bit of a dusty environment because of the samples we handle, but we keep the equipment clean. Being in the industrial area means we are surrounded by factories and warehouses. There is always the sound of trucks moving nearby. We spend our days taking measurements and writing down numbers. It’s a quiet sort of work, mostly. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It's just a small team of us who know how to run the tests properly. We don't use much fancy language when we talk to clients; we just give them the results they need for their projects. Sometimes the work is repetitive, but it’s important for building things the right way. We have a small office area where we do the paperwork. It’s a bit cluttered with folders and files from over the years. We open at the usual industrial hours and head home when the shift is done. It’s a straightforward business. We keep a kettle in the corner for making coffee when the weather gets cold. The floor is concrete and can be quite chilly in the morning. We spend a lot of time double-checking our calibration to make sure the machines are working right.
