You’ll find us at Shop Number 17 in the Mangal Kirti Apartment. We’re right across from the Fatehgunj Petrol Pump in Vadodara. It’s a busy little corner, and there’s always something going on outside. Inside, we’re usually busy with the oven or decorating whatever just came out. While it is a patisserie, don’t expect a high-end boutique feel. It’s a working shop. The smell of sugar and flour is everywhere, and honestly, so is the flour itself sometimes. A small counter shows what’s ready for the day. Our team is just a few people who like baking. Marketing departments and things like that don't exist here. If we make something new, we just put it out and see if people like it. The air conditioning struggles a bit when the ovens have been on all morning, but we’re used to the heat. Much of the day is spent washing trays and cleaning up spills. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s what we do. Fancy words aren't used to describe our stuff. It’s just cake and pastry made by hand in a small shop. People in Fatehgunj know where we are. Keeping the ovens running and seeing familiar faces coming through the door makes us happy. It’s a simple life, filled with baking and keeping things tidy. We just take things as they come and hope the bread rises well every time we start a batch.
