Fancy Hair

Fancy Hair is located at Shop Number 10 in the Spandan Shopping Centre. We are on Arunachal Samta Road in Subhanpura, right across from Daksha Flat. The name sounds a bit more grand than the shop actually is. It’s a small, honest place where people come to get their hair cut without any trouble. I’ve been in this shopping centre for years. I know the guys in the shops next door, and we usually have lunch together. The shop has two main chairs and a small sink in the corner. I keep my scissors sharpened and my combs in a jar of blue liquid. Subhanpura is a nice area, mostly families and retired people. They don’t want anything too crazy, just a neat look. I spend a lot of time sweeping up hair. The floor is old tile and it’s stained in a few places, but it’s clean. There’s a big window out front, so I can see everyone coming and going from Daksha Flat. Some people stop by just to say hello while they are out for a walk. We don't have any fancy music playing, just the sound of the street and the occasional chat. It’s a simple way to make a living. I open up at ten and stay until the last person is done. It’s not a complicated life, just cutting hair day after day.
