Baroda Graphics

Out here in the Makarpura Industrial Estate, things are always moving. Our place is at Gidc Plot No. 748/6/18. If you know where the Purohit Chikki shop is, you’re pretty much there. It’s a noisy neighborhood with all the factories around, but we like it. We’ve been at this spot doing graphics and printing work for a good while. The shop is usually full of the smell of ink and cleaning fluids. We have some heavy machines that take up most of the floor, so you have to watch where you step. It’s not a quiet job, but we like the rhythm of it. Most of our day is spent checking files and making sure the colors don't come out looking weird on the plastic or paper. Sometimes the machines get a bit temperamental, and we have to spend an hour fixing a jam, but we usually figure it out. We aren't a big outfit, just a few people who have been doing this long enough to know the shortcuts. The heat in the afternoon can be something else, especially with the equipment running, but we keep the fans going. We don't bother with fancy uniforms or anything. It's just us in our work clothes, getting the stuff out the door so the customers stay happy. It’s a decent way to spend the day, even if the floor stays stained with ink and we go home tired every night.
