Azad Hair & Beauty Parlour

Azad Hair & Beauty Parlour is shop number two in the Kabir Complex. We are right on the Baranpura Main Road in Vadodara, which is a very old and busy part of the city. We are situated directly opposite the Subhash Chowk. If you know that area, you know how much noise and energy there is all day long. The shop is small and sits right near the street. You can hear the rickshaws and the buses going by constantly. We have a couple of chairs for hair work and some space for beauty treatments as well. It is a bit of a tight fit sometimes, but we are used to it. The interior is simple, with tiled floors and plain walls. We don't have any of those big posters or glowing signs you see in the new parts of town. It’s just an old-fashioned shop that has been serving the Baranpura community for a long time. Most of our regulars have been coming to us for years. They know where we are, right there by the chowk. I start the day by opening the metal shutters and setting everything up. The dust from the main road is a constant battle, so I am always wiping things down. It’s hard work, but we are happy to be a part of the daily life in this busy corner of Vadodara.
