Asha Beauty Academy

Asha Beauty Academy is located at 1 /C Gulabchand Society on the Karelibaug Main Road. It’s a very busy part of Vadodara, and we are quite close to the Ambe Mata Mandir. You can often hear the bells or the music from the temple while we are working. This isn't just a place for getting ready, we actually spend a lot of time teaching here. Many young women come to us to learn the basics of the beauty business. We show them how to do hair, how to handle the skin treatments, and the right way to use the equipment. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the practice going on, but that’s how people learn. The building in Karelibaug is an older one, so it has that lived-in feel. We don't have any polished corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a couple of rooms with mirrors and stools where the girls can practice. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know almost everyone who walks past the door. The main road is always loud with scooters and rickshaws, but inside we just focus on the lessons. It’s practical work. We teach them what they need to know to get a job or start their own small shop. It’s just about passing on what I know to the next group of students who want to work in this line.
