Our place is down in Gadan Khera, right by the bypass road. You can find us pretty easily because the Nigam Petrol Pump is quite close by. We’ve been operating out of this spot in the district for some time now. The yard is usually quite busy with the noise of the bypass traffic. We spend most of our hours outdoors, handling the raw materials and making sure the cement is mixed just right. It is not an easy job because the bags are heavy and the work is dirty, but we are used to having dust on our clothes. We make various products that people need for building things. You’ll see the piles of items sitting out to cure in the open air. We don't have any big corporate structure here, just a small group of us working every day. When a customer comes in, they usually just walk straight into the yard to see what we have ready. We don't use much technology; we prefer to just write things down and talk to people directly. Sometimes the wind picks up and blows the sand around, but we just keep going. It’s a practical business for practical people. We stay open as long as there is work to be done. Most people stop in while they are getting fuel at the pump or driving through the bypass. It’s just how we live and work here in the yard every day.
