Patel Rice Mill

We’ve been here at number 38 in the B.D. Industrial Area for a good while now. The mill is right on Maxi Road, so it's easy for the trucks to find us. Usually, the day starts pretty early when the first loads of paddy come in. There’s a lot of noise once the machines get going, and honestly, the place gets quite dusty by noon, but that’s just how rice milling goes. We spend most of our time checking the grain and making sure the hulling is done right. It’s not fancy work, just steady. Some of the guys have been working these machines for years and they know the sound of a motor acting up before it even happens. We get all sorts of weather here, and the heat in the summer can be a bit much inside the shed, but we keep the fans going and get the bags filled. People around here know the mill and where to find us if they need a batch processed. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small desk where we keep the logs and take care of the paperwork between loads. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the sacks are stacked properly so they don't fall over. If you walk down Maxi Road, you’ll probably smell the toasted husks before you even see our gate. We focus on the rice and the daily grind of keeping things running well.
