Parampalli Padukare

Parampalli Padukare is right near the coast in Udupi. If you know the area, you know how beautiful it can be, especially when the weather is clear and the sun is out. We’ve been here for quite some time, operating out of this building in the village. It’s a quiet place for the most part, though the wind can get pretty strong coming off the water during the monsoon season. The school isn't very large, but it’s enough for the children who live in the Padukare area. We have a few classrooms and a small area where the kids can sit during their breaks. The walls are painted a simple color, and we try to keep them clean, though the salt air tends to wear things down faster than you’d expect. Everything here is very local and grounded. The teachers live nearby, and most of the families have known each other for generations. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or computers. We rely on books and some old maps we’ve had for years. Sometimes the fishing season makes the attendance a bit unpredictable, as families are busy with work, but we make it work. It’s a very practical sort of place. We focus on the basics and making sure everyone has what they need to learn their lessons. It’s not a complicated setup, just a school in a small coastal village trying to do its part for the kids in Udupi.
