You will find Sri Durga Apparell Industries at N. H. No. 19 in Brahmavar. Being located right on the national highway means we are always surrounded by the sounds of the road. It’s a big building because we need a lot of space for our garment production. Inside, it’s mostly rows of industrial sewing machines. We have a good group of people from around Brahmavar who come in every day to work. The atmosphere is very focused. You mostly hear the hum of the motors and the sound of fabric being cut. We aren't a boutique or a retail shop. We don't have mannequins in the window or fancy lighting. It’s a factory through and through. We spend our time checking seams and making sure the buttonholes are in the right place. We get large rolls of cloth delivered and they eventually leave as finished garments packed in cardboard boxes. Sometimes the weather gets very humid, and the big fans we have don't quite do the trick, but everyone just keeps going. We don't have a marketing department or a corporate office in some skyscraper. We just have an office room with a few ledgers and a computer where we keep track of the orders. It’s a lot of work to keep everything running smoothly on a schedule, but we’ve been at it for years and have a good rhythm now. The building has a small area where we keep the thread and extra needles. It is just steady production every single day.
