Hotel Shree Hari Niwas

We are situated on Jammu Road in Katra, right across from the ICICI Bank. If you are coming into town, you’ll likely pass us on the main stretch of road. Katra is a busy place because so many people are coming here to visit the shrine. We see people from all over the country walking by with their walking sticks and backpacks. The air can be quite cold here in the winter, so we spend a lot of time making sure the inside is decent for anyone who stops in. We aren't a big chain hotel; we are just a local business on the main road. The view outside is mostly just the other buildings and the bank, but you can feel the energy of the pilgrims everywhere. We don't use any fancy language to describe ourselves because we are just a straightforward place to stay. The 182301 area is mostly about the journey up the mountain, and we are just one stop along that path. Our staff is small, and we do most of the work ourselves, from checking the rooms to keeping the front area clean. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people who are either starting their walk or just coming back down, looking exhausted. We just try to keep things simple and honest. There isn't much more to it than that. We are just here on Jammu Road, doing our daily tasks and watching the crowds go by day after day.
