Somnath Tour & Travels

Our shop, Somnath Tour & Travels, is a bit of a mix of things. We are located in Sulai, right near the school. If you walk past the school, you will find us pretty quickly. We also run Somnath Stationers and Kirana from the same spot. It makes for a very busy day. One minute we are selling notebooks or pens to the school kids, and the next minute someone is asking about booking a car for a trip out of town. We carry basic groceries too, like lentils and soaps, so people from the neighborhood are always coming in and out for their daily needs. It’s a bit cramped with all the bags of rice and the stationery shelves, but we like it that way. My family helps out with the different parts of the business. We started the travel side of things because people in Sulai needed a good way to get to Udaipur or other nearby villages. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are. It is a simple life in this part of Udaipur. The kids from the school make a lot of noise during their breaks, but we’ve grown to enjoy the energy they bring. We close up when the sun goes down and the street gets quiet. It’s just a normal local shop doing what we can. We have been here for years now and know everyone around the village.
