Shri Vasudev Dal Mills

Our mill is located at 583, Bhrampura, right near the Patel Chhatravas. It’s a good spot because the students from the hostel are always walking by, making the area feel alive. Shri Vasudev Dal Mills has been around for a bit, and we’ve become a bit of a landmark for people giving directions. The work we do isn't very glamorous. It involves a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the grains are cleaned and processed just right. We have a few big machines that take up most of the space inside. There is a small office in the front where I sit when I'm not on the floor, but it’s mostly filled with ledgers and old registers. I still prefer writing things down by hand rather than using a computer for everything. The neighbors are mostly friendly, although they sometimes complain about the noise if we start too early in the morning. We try to be mindful of that. It’s a family-run thing, so there’s always someone around to help out if a customer shows up late. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a polished reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably find me with dust on my shirt and a half-empty cup of tea. That’s just how we run things here. We just try to be honest and get the job done without making a big fuss.
