Shree Charbhuja Tea House

Shree Charbhuja Tea House is located right at Dhanmandi Teej Ka Chowk. It’s a famous spot in the city and there is always something going on outside our door. The tea house is a place where people come to get their supply for the week. We have benches inside where people can sit for a minute while we prepare their order. The walls are a pale blue that has faded over the years, and there are hooks everywhere for hanging bags. We handle a lot of different tea types, mostly the strong black ones that people around here prefer. It gets very busy during festival times when the Chowk is packed with people. We have to work fast then, filling bags and taking cash as quickly as we can. When things are slow, we just sit and watch the traffic go by. The tea comes in from the wholesalers in large quantities and we spend a good portion of the week just breaking it down into smaller portions. There’s a specific way to fold the paper packets so they don’t leak, and it took me a long time to learn it right. We don't have any big ambitions to expand or anything. This one shop in the Chowk is enough for us to manage. It’s a familiar routine and we are used to the rhythm of the market here.
