Shanker Oil & Rice Factory

Our factory is situated in Hiran Magri, specifically in the Krishi Upaj Mandi area of Sector 11, at number 30. It is a large space because we need room for the rice bags and the oil drums. The machines take up a lot of the floor and they make a steady humming sound all day long. We have trucks coming in to drop off the raw grain and others coming to pick up the processed oil. It’s a lot of logistics and paperwork but we manage it. The Mandi is always full of activity and it can be hard to find a place to park some days. We’ve got a small office in the corner where we keep the books, but most of our time is spent out on the floor. It is greasy work with the oil and dusty with the rice, so we wear old clothes that we don’t mind getting dirty. We don't bother with fancy signs or anything because the people we work with know where the factory is. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The heat from the machines can be a lot in the summer months so we keep the big doors open for a breeze. It’s been our family business for a while and we just keep it going. We usually finish up the last batch and head home by seven.
