Parakh Bearing House

You can find us at 188 Bapu Bazar. It’s a well-known street and there are plenty of other shops around us. At Parakh Bearing House, we focus on one thing mostly, and that’s bearings. We have all sizes, from the tiny ones to the big heavy ones used in factories. The shop has been here for years. My father started it and now I’m the one looking after things most days. The walls are lined with wooden racks that are starting to sag a bit from the weight of all the metal. Bapu Bazar is always crowded, so getting stuff delivered can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We usually have tea delivered from the stall down the road around eleven. It’s a simple life. We talk to the customers, listen to what they’re fixing, and see if we have the part they need. Sometimes we don't have it, and we tell them where else they might look. We aren't big on technology here; we still do a lot of things the old way with paper and pens. It works for us. The floor is concrete and we sweep it out every morning before we open the shutters. It’s a steady job. People need bearings for everything, so we stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the shelves full. We don't need much else. It is just a regular shop doing regular work.
