Kanpur Bearing Repairs is situated at 46 Reti Stand. It’s a busy area where a lot of transport happens. Unlike some other shops, we don't just sell bearings; we do a lot of repair work too. People bring in old, worn-out parts to see if they can be saved. Our hands are usually covered in grease by ten in the morning. It’s messy work, but it’s satisfying to fix something that was broken. The shop is full of tools, lathes, and cleaning tubs. It’s not the cleanest place you’ll ever see, but it’s a working shop. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal or the hum of a machine running. We’ve been at Reti Stand for years and the locals know us well. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. You just walk in and talk to whoever is at the bench. Sometimes we have a backlog of work, so there are piles of bearings waiting to be looked at. We try to get through them as fast as we can without rushing the job. It’s important to do it right so the part doesn't fail again. The building is old and the roof leaks a little when it rains hard, but we just move the machines out of the way. It’s just how things are. We don't complain much, we just keep working on whatever comes through the door.
