Nitesh Parmar

I work out of the LIC Building near the Reti Stand. It is a pretty well-known spot, so most people don’t have much trouble finding where I am. My office space is fairly straightforward—just a desk, a couple of chairs for visitors, and several filing cabinets. I spend most of my time going through forms and explaining different policies or insurance plans to people who walk in. It is not the most exciting kind of work, but it is important for the families who come to see me. Sometimes the building gets quite busy, especially at the start of the month when everyone has errands to run. I have been at this specific location for a long time now, and I have come to know many of the same faces over the years. I try to keep things as simple as possible and explain all the fine print in a way that actually makes sense. There is a lot of back-and-forth communication with the main office, which involves a fair amount of waiting and checking on status updates. I usually have a growing stack of papers to get through by the time I close up for the day. When I am not sitting at my desk, I might be out meeting someone who isn't able to make it to the office here at Reti Stand. It is a one-man show for the most part, so I handle everything from the very first chat to the final signatures. It is a steady routine that keeps me involved with the local community here.
